The best thing I saw at church today:
So, I know I've complained about the proliferation of ill-mannered children at this church before, but Easter is an awesome day for kids ( Easter hats! Exciting music! Egg hunts!), so I was psyched to be at the service with all the kids. I was sitting next to a hipster-looking dude (Chucks with his blazer) who was holding a really adorable, plump little girl in dress with a giant bow. She was totally restless the whole service, kept looking around, and kept waving at the front of the church and whispering, very loudly, "HI!"
I thought she was just excited about the impending egg hunt (she had a basket). But then the service ended, and the acolytes and the choir and everyone paraded out. Everyone was standing up, and the little girl was standing on the pew (like a lot of small kids do) so that she could see. And as our newly ordained young seminarian came walking past at the end of the procession, the little girl jumped up and down and yelled, "MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" with the most awesome and adorable excitement. SUPER CUTE.
